  UPDATE: Staples’ response has made this experience even more frustrating. The store responded to my review by saying they were forwarding my concerns to corporate. Meanwhile, I received an email informing me that Staples canceled my order entirely and that it may take several days for the funds to be released back to me. This is exactly the opposite of what I asked for. When I called, I specifically asked whether they could simply send another printer on Monday. Instead of replacing the printer I had already purchased, they canceled the order without resolving the problem. What makes this particularly difficult to understand is that the Staples store is approximately three-quarters of a mile from the delivery address. A problem that seemingly could have been resolved very simply has now resulted in a canceled order, a delayed refund, and me having to start the entire purchase over again. I understand that mistakes happen. What I don't understand is why no one seems empowered to simply fix the mistake. Apologies and forwarding complaints to corporate are not a substitute for resolving a customer's problem. This has been one of the most unnecessarily frustrating retail experiences I've encountered.I would give zero stars if I could. On September 28, I ordered a Canon printer from this Staples as a thank-you gift for my niece, who is in college and has been helping me tremendously through several recent surgeries. I chose this location because it is only about a mile from her home, and I was told the printer would be delivered October 2. Instead, the tracking eventually showed “Package Lost.” When I contacted Staples, I was told the delivery was being handled through DoorDash and that Staples needed to investigate the missing package before replacing the printer I had already paid for. That is the part I find unacceptable. I paid Staples for a product that was never delivered. In my opinion, Staples should have replaced the missing printer and handled the investigation with its delivery service separately rather than making the customer wait. I understand that deliveries sometimes go wrong, but repeatedly being told “we’re sorry” doesn’t resolve the problem. This was supposed to be a simple thank-you gift for someone who has gone out of her way to help me during a difficult time. Very disappointing experience and customer service.
