- LOLynn O'MaliaAug 12, 20262.0I went to mail a birthday present on Monday… I told the clerk it was a hard bound book and a greeting card, because years ago, I remember mailing a book and the clerk offered me a discounted special rate for that. The clerk then proceeded to tell me that my box was subject to be opened for a Postal Service inspection, and I said no problem. She went on to explain that if they found out, it wasn’t a book they would charge the receiver the balance of the shipping charge or return the package to me. She then presented me with two shipping options ranging from $14.95 up, and ask me “So now what do you want to do?” I told her I wanted to ship my book at the book rate and she finally did my transaction… But she even charged me an extra $.82 for postage for including the greeting card in with the book. I did not like how she doubted me, questioned my honesty and gave me a hard time. That’s not the service I expect at everybody’s Hometown post office!

Got lucky and someone dropped off a package to my door earlier this month. But missing several packages for my buisness is very upsetting. Seems who ever has this route now Doesn’t know how to do their job.
