- JSJack SundellJul 31, 20261.0Wow just had an almost surreal experience at the Huron Post Office in West LR. Really just baffling behavior. I thought I could go to the counter until 7:00 pm but it's just the lobby that's open until 7:00, the counter closes at 6:00. I arrived at 6:20 and had a package in my arms to mail, and when I pulled on the inside door and found it locked the guy behind the desk literally started laughing at me. He turned to his colleague who was closing up his drawer, then turned back to me and continued cackling out loud that I thought they were still open; I could hear him through the glass! What on earth is wrong with these people? I work in a restaurant, and just try to imagine what would happen in a restaurant if someone arrived 15 minutes after the restaurant closed and you laughed at them through the door for thinking you were still open. That restaurant would be out of business in a matter of months. There's a reason the postal service is struggling, and this kind of pathetic customer service makes it really clear why. Is it that hard to find people who feel emotional empathy toward their fellow human? I know UPS and Fedex charge a little more, but it's worth it to be treated with kindness and respect.
