  This store only ever seems to have 1-2 people working so service and returns take forever.

  Exemplary service at this Staples location. I was experiencing difficulty in the self-service printing work station today, and the young lady (should’ve gotten her name) attempted to identify and remedy the problem. After it was clear that the copier was not reading my USB drive (probably b/c it was formatted XFAT), she took my thumb drive and printed my 11x17 posters through her work station. And when I attempted to checkout with her, she performed an unexpected act of kindness, and it definitely prompts me to visit this location again. Can’t get service like this through an online interface. This young lady knows that brick-and-mortar stores offer something no website can—an experience, a relationship, which weighs so much more than a simple transaction.

  While out running errands, I stopped in to check out backpack selection for my son. The store was clean and well stocked. I think I saw 3 or 4 workers up front so of course that makes sense. As I walked into the only lit up checkout lane the worker was on the phone and did not wind down his phone conversation. The man purposely avoided eye contact and didn't do anything to help us understand where we were supposed to go. My son even laid out out two items bar code up so he could just scan while he was talking. But we got nothing, no response whatsoever. On top of that, none of the many workers nearby seemed to care about what was going on. Who knew it would be so hard for someone to take my money! Eventually I moved to the balloon counter and got in line behind the woman ordering balloons. Seeing as how the checkout light was off, I interrupted to make sure I was in the right place. The worker said yes, but also curtly said he was helping the lady in front of me first. I did not ask to jump the line I was asking for clarification. However this man cannot read body language. So, I apologized for interrupting and explained I just wanted to be in the right place since the man at the checkout counter was not doing his job. I got no apology or expression of sympathy. At this point I figured it was easier to check out and leave. It's clear to me that this store needs to teach their management how to train their workers to interact with customers. And if anything, at least teach them to turn on the check out lights so customers know where to go.

  Staff are always attentive to customer needs. They *give aisle directions, *personally take you to items needed, *gives good info/tips about desired items.
