Lousy I went with the company because they were supposed to set up new appliances and haul away old ones. The delivery guys gave us some excuses about they couldn't haul away old appliances. Wouldn't drive down the driveway. Just unboxed appliances and plugged them in. Said they couldn't plug in ice maker hose. Some bullshit story about cooper lines. Totally disappointed 😞😞😞

Goodness me. What a horrible customer experience picking up an IKEA order at the Oxmoor location. Communication that my order was ready to pickup was fine. Gave all the important details like working hours and to make sure to bring help or know I have to load the item in my car on my own. Completely fine, I knew was going to be a bulky, so might be awkward, but was fully prepared to get the item in myself. I pull in the IKEA pickup spot, found the email and checked in. After doing so I got out to push seats down, moved a car seat and was ready for someone to meet me and confirm everything (done this several times with Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel). I look down at my phone and have not 1, but 5 texts sent in all caps "BACK UP IN FRONT OF THE DOOR WITH THE NUMBER 14 BACK TO THE ORANGE CONE AND SOMEONE WILL BRING YOUR ORDER OUT SOON FOR YOU TO LOAD OUT YOURSELF!!!!!!!!" No joke, screaming at me in all caps with 8 exclamation marks. So I turned my car around and pulled back inline and popped the tailgate to be ready to load. After a few moments, a worker shows up and has my two boxes on a trolley, backs up to the loading door, but not 1 centimeter out of the warehouse door, looks and me and says zero words to me. No confirmation of who I am, just looks at me and looks at the boxes. Since I saw my name on them, I said well okay, grabbed them and dragged the boxes about 15 ft to my car. Again - I was fully prepared to load them myself, but like I don't know, maybe she could have spoked (even to say company policy I can't help load this to your car), pushed the cart at least 5 feet out the door where I wouldn't have been able to move my car anyway because it was past the orange cone mentioned in the text. I shared directly with IKEA my experience to consider a different partner in the area if customer experience is important to them. If you are in the market to find a similar partner in Birmingham, I would consider different options as well.

Like others, I had an extremely disappointing experience attempting to pick up an IKEA order. The only two options RXO provides for "check in" are through an e-mail (which I had not received from IKEA) or through a smartphone app. I called to inquire about alternatives, because I do not have a smartphone, and when I informed Melody Mckeller, the RXO representative of that, she said "excuse me?" and told me that the app or the e-mail check-in were the only two options. It is absurd that picking up from this location requires a smartphone, and Ms. McKeller was exceptionally rude and did not even attempt to find a solution for me.

We had an extremely disappointing experience at this location today. We traveled approximately 2.5 hours to pick up an IKEA package. Due to unexpected traffic and GPS delays, we arrived at 11:01 a.m.—just one minute after the stated closing time. However, the pickup email we received from IKEA clearly stated that our package could be picked up until 12:00 p.m. Based on the information provided by IKEA, we reasonably believed we were still within the pickup window. When we arrived, employees were still outside actively assisting another customer and loading packages into vehicles, yet they refused to help us. I attempted to show the employee the IKEA email indicating a 12:00 p.m. pickup deadline, but she refused to even look at it. (I understand that RXO sent an email themselves with the 11am time frame, but the Ikea email said 12:00pm, and I did not see the RXO email prior as my business was with Ikea, NOT RXO) Had she reviewed the email, she would have seen that we were following the instructions provided to us. At a minimum, the situation deserved consideration rather than immediate dismissal. The employee who identified herself as “Melody” and a male employee were both present outside when we arrived. Despite explaining our situation, the distance we had traveled, and the conflicting information we had received from IKEA, they showed no willingness to assist or offer any reasonable solution. What was most frustrating was not the refusal itself, but the complete lack of professionalism and customer service. The female employee was particularly rude and dismissive throughout the interaction. She offered no empathy, provided no information about how we could retrieve our package, and could not provide contact information for a manager. As someone who works in customer service, I fully understand the importance of business hours and operational policies. However, I also understand the importance of treating customers with respect and professionalism, especially when they are seeking help. Rather than attempting to assist us in any way, the employee simply clocked out, walked to her car, and left. As she drove away, she yelled something at us from inside her vehicle, which only added to the unprofessional nature of the encounter. I understand that this is not an IKEA retail location but rather a warehouse facility that handles IKEA shipments. However, this experience reflects poorly on both IKEA and RXO. The customer service we received was unacceptable. No effort was made to help us, provide guidance, or offer any form of resolution after we had traveled several hours for a scheduled pickup and were operating based on the pickup information IKEA had provided. Policies are one thing; basic courtesy, professionalism, and a willingness to address conflicting information are another. Unfortunately, all three were lacking during our visit. Poor business from RXO and IKEA for doing business with this company
