- CBCorrina Van BruntJun 28, 20231.0TOURISTS BEWARE! I ordered a package through Amazon and they had it delivered through USPS. Since we are at an Airbnb, we called USPS the day before it was supposed to be delivered to ask them to deliver it to the door as we don’t have access to the mailbox. They said that they could do that! They said they left a note with the carrier and took our name and phone number to call us when it delivered. Next day, I get a notification from Amazon that delivery was attempted and that they need more info to try again. (There was never a knock at the door or a phone call for attempted delivery). About an hour later, we get a call from the post office that our package is there to pick up. We go to get it, and we are charged $17.00???? I ask why and was told that we had to pay since it was a non deliverable address and they had to be the in-between. We already paid for shipping through Amazon, and we called the day before to make sure nothing like this would happen. They chose not to deliver it and we had to pay $17. The worker also did not try to resolve the situation or try to find out who we had talked to yesterday who told us it would be delivered to the door. We are very upset and would not recommend ordering or shipping through this USPS post office.
