- CPChanel PZYAug 16, 20261.0I would strongly recommend not sending birthday cards, greeting cards, or cards containing money or gift cards through the Gordo, AL Post Office based on my experience. I recently mailed a birthday card (no money or gift card included) to a family member, and it never arrived. The family member tracks incoming mail once it is scanned, and the card was never scanned into the system. I personally handed the card to a substitute employee, Tameka (I’m not sure of the correct spelling), who was working that day. Because of the circumstances, I have serious concerns about what happened to the card and know she stole it thinking it has money in it. I intend to file a police report so the matter can be properly investigated since the post office don’t want to do anything about it. Unfortunately, this is not the only issue I’ve experienced with this location. On another occasion, I had a package marked as delivered, but it had been placed in the wrong mailbox. The package contained something personal that I absolutely did not want ending up in someone else’s hands. I contacted the post office, and the carrier was called and returned to correct the mistake. What was especially disappointing was that there was no apology or acknowledgment of the error since I watched her trying to sneak back and correct herself. I hate to leave a negative review because I remember when the guy carrier handled my route. I never had any issues whatsoever when he delivered my mail. I understand that mistakes can happen, but stealing mail thinking you’re about to get money when you need to get a second job if that one isn’t paying enough and packages being placed in the wrong mailbox are serious issues. I hope the Gordo Post Office takes these concerns seriously and looks into what is happening with mail and package handling at this location.
