  We sent a care package to an aunt that has terminal cancer because her last wish was to have chips and cookies from the US because this is where she lived most of her life. The package was inspected and everything was cleared. We were told we were OK to go and paid more than $500 just to send a care package to Mexico. we were sent an email asking for a form of tax ID or Social Security number and we provided that as you would usually do afterwards a few days later, we received another email, but this time from a Mexican customs telling us that we needed to provide more information in order for the package to be delivered. When the person who was receiving the package arrived at the office, they were told that they needed to provide all of this information, including a import license in Mexico, and then we’re told that they might NOT even receive the package because DHL does not allow food items to be sent. So here is my question why were we told that it was OK to send package inspected and everything and then once it arrived at the Country it was being delivered to did they say we might NOT even get the package. afterwards, I spoke to DHL‘s customer service office where they told me that they were not in charge of what happens in the country that the package is being delivered to which in my opinion is very dumb because you are the same company and you should be informed of the laws and regulations of the countries that you allow shipments to!!!!! So now pretty much my only option is to wait for the package to be returned back to the US and or Have the person who was receiving the go back to the office in Mexico and pay even more money just to get a license to be an importer. just for them to MAYBE DELIVER THE PACKAGE. My problem is not necessarily with the laws regulations or things that need to be done a certain way. My problem is with the lack of clarity on DHL’s part. IF YOUR COMPANY ALLOWS SHIPMENTS TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES, YOU SHOULD INFORM YOUR EMPLOYEES ON THEIR LAWS REGULATIONS ON SENDING PACKAGES AND WHAT CAN AND CAN’T BE IN THEM!!!and additionally on what will be required when the package arrives not what MAY BE required what WILL BE required. Staff at Birmingham were kind and I don’t blame them because you only know as much as your told this is truly a DHL company issue!! But if you want to spend an absurd amount of money for a package to maybe not be delivered then be my guest DHL is the place to go.

  Packages still has not arrived that just go to show how much you all care about animal life it's says that my package has arrived but I have not seen it yett and the fur life company had to re deliver my package and the delivery company still has not delivered my package i request that whoever is in charge of delivery my package be fired immediately or whoever is in charge of letting me know my package has been delivered be terminated immediately i ask that all future customers who use this delivery company tread with caution

  Horrible for international shipping. It took me a couple of hours to pay my customs duties because they have an abysmal website portal that makes it impossible to pay online. I use UPS & FedEx for most international shipments. I'll never use DHL again, because it's absolute bollocks.

  Was looking to report this branch… fully not only irresponsible but also falsified without coming any delivery person they updated web portal someone came to delivery and don’t find any person while I was waiting front door from 12pm to 4.30pm for delivery person. They share this email socialcare.us@dhl.com and upon reach out found illogical unprofessional response. Parcel was very important official and it wasn’t delivered on time. Head office must investigate about this branch….
