- AMAlaska MattAug 6, 20261.0Over the last year it now takes 2 or 3 weeks or more to receive your mail. When your priority mail you paid alot of money for it to get here fast but instead sits in Anchorage for many days without moving. So you then take time out of your busy day and go in and ask about the status you get a real treat to interact with the rudest and most inept staff I have seen. I completely understand why the USPS runs on a 10 BILLION dollar debt every year. I will from now on use UPS or FEDEX to have my mail sent to Fairbanks. I cant wait for it to become privatized. No other business can operate this way.

The one on Barnette Street is the only one that accepts General Delivery. This one returned my package to the sender rather than trying to get the package to the right place. I would understand that, but my 4 phone calls to ask where General Delivery was were unanswered, and their voice mailbox full. When I got to town and went there today and found all this out, they said they knew lots of people got the GD address wrong, but they were not able to correct the website, and don’t have enough people to answer the phone, so just send the letters and packages back.
