She kept misunderstanding my questions and then responding very rudely when she would give me the same answer over and over. My issue wasn’t even resolved. Update 10 minutes later: a simple google search told me that everything Denise just said to me on the phone is incorrect. Don’t listen to her if she said your package goes to the mail recovery center and gets destroyed. There’s a form on USPS you can fill out to request they search through those packages at the missing mail center and find and return your package. It’s obvious that Denise is only aware of the policies for her own location and cannot as well as SHOULD not speak on USPS on a national scale. I’ll update again when I get the package she swore up and down was going to get destroyed.

One of my packages has made it all the way across the United States to the final post office and then returned back to me and the other time my package was held up at this location for a week and then was returned back to me on a Saturday afternoon when the post office closes at noon and I have to ship them out on Monday from another post office

He seemed to be confused by what she said, and instead of calming explaining, she belittled him and repeated the same sentence multiple times. Each time getting louder and more aggressive. While this wasn’t my personal experience - I can’t help but feel awful for the customer who got belittled in front of a line of people waiting. Treating someone that way is so unacceptable.
