- MWMeagan WilliamsJun 14, 20251.0We get “the mailbox is full” message often which is code for “we don’t have room in our vehicle for your package”. Been dealing with this HUGE inconvenience for years. We live on the outskirts of Quitman and hardly ever go the direction to in town Quitman so we have to go out of our way to pick up packages. On top of that, they don’t allow anyone else to pick up your packages and there was a time I had lost my drivers license when I could not retrieve a very important package. A package in which it was their JOB to deliver to my home they would not allow me to pick up. Upon talking to several residents and USPS employees outside of the Quitman PO jurisdiction, I’ve found out that this is a problem unique to this post office. Carriers everywhere else make additional trips to complete their job. Just yesterday I had to take off early from work after(thankfully) being notified by Amazon that the time sensitive package was “unable to be delivered” because them not delivering on a Friday means that I am not able to retrieve the package until Monday. I will say the front desk guy currently at the PO is very nice though. Just sick of the poor policy and management.
