A post office was first established in this town in 1888 so I'm sure they when through a few building since then just could find them or any pictures. Powderly ws first name Lenoir but when the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway was built through the area in the 1880s, the community was renamed "Powderly" in honor of Terence V. Powderly, a labor leader and later a commissioner of immigration in the McKinley administration. This Post office was nice and clean and the people here do a great job. Keep up the good work.

Awesome service!
