- MCMike CahillNov 17, 20255.0This place holds a special place in my heart. My Great Great Grandfather was the second Post Master here at the Old McNeil Store. He came over from Ireland after the second potato famine in the late 1880’s and settled in McNeil when he was young. He was the manager of the Limestone plant as well. My dad and uncle used to walk to the store when they were boys to get ice cream. My Uncle is an artist and did a painting of this amazing place back in the 1980’s as a memory for our family. I still have it hanging in my home to this day. I’ve taken my sons here and taken pictures with them in front of the store as well.

The real counter workers do their best to fulfill needs. The postmaster never lift a finger to help...even when the line is long. He just sits there on the end. Not offering to assist unless you ask him a question. He just looks and goes to hide in the office if you act like you want to ask him a question.
