I try not to judge a company based on a first experience, especially during the holidays. However, first impressions do matter, particularly as a business owner. On 12/6/25, I uploaded a notepad template I created in Canva to request a quote. I received the quote on 12/8/25, which was reasonable since the business is closed on Sundays. On 12/11/25, I decided to move forward with the order, submitted a deposit, received a mockup the same day, and approved it. At that time, no estimated completion date was provided, and I was unsure whether that is standard practice.
Several days later, I uploaded an additional item to request a quote. I received two quotes and replied to the email asking for clarification, but I never received a response. On that same day, 12/15/25, I also emailed to request an estimated completion date for the notepads and again did not receive a reply. On 12/18/25, I called and was told the notepads would be ready that day. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the lack of response to my prior emails. During that call, I was also asked about the clarification request for the other item. I explained that since I never received a response, I had that item printed through Canva instead.
I arrived shortly before closing to pick up the notepads, and they were still being packed. I was told the staff believed I may have been shorted two notepads and was given the option to return later or receive a refund for the two. Since I needed the full order, I said I would return to pick up the missing items. However, when I got home and counted them, none were missing. Unfortunately, several pages were already falling out of multiple notepads, with approximately four to five pages loose on five of the notepads.
This experience was disappointing. I genuinely try to support small and brick-and-mortar businesses, but if the turnaround time is the same and the quality is inconsistent, I would rather pay more to have items produced correctly and delivered to my doorstep. This is especially unfortunate because I have extensive printing needs, including flyers, folders, notecards, greeting cards, coffee mugs, pens, stickers, shipping labels, report samples, and resumes. I had hoped to use Minuteman for all of these needs. To date, I have printed approximately ninety-nine percent of these items through Canva and will continue to do so until and unless I am able to find a local printer that provides consistent communication, quality, and reliability.
I am giving three stars because the notepads that were produced correctly look very nice. However, some of the notepads are not flush at the top where they are bound with adhesive. While this is not extremely noticeable, it is a detail that a more detail-oriented client may observe.
As a result, I will likely not provide those particular notepads to my clients.
