I am living with a serious illness causing me disability. I am regularly unable to pick up packages and must order basic provisions to be delivered. This post office refuses to deliver packages and has left me stranded from receiving important items that I could not pick up.
While I understand the predicament, they cannot blame Amazon for this. This is a problem with USPS! In good faith, USPS signed a delivery contract with Amazon and are being paid to do that job. If local small town post offices are stretched too thin, then USPS needs to back out of the contract with Amazon, or USPS needs to increase their staffing resources. Amazon and USPS have a formal contract — not exploitation — but Amazon’s size gives it advantages that look exploitative from the outside. I understand that small towns are taking a hit but USPS has leverage. Blaming Amazon for their office’s overwhelm is like me blaming God for my disability— there’s no point— I still have to figure out how to address my responsibilities and keep it moving.
Today I cancelled orders on Amazon (that were stuck at the post office) and formally requested a new carrier. I think that’s the only way to solve this. If this post office can’t deliver then both Amazon and the post office are to blame and both need consequences to resolve this.
As a community, we can’t be left raging against the post office and picking up our own Amazon deliveries when that’s not what the service was designed for. The elderly and disabled need to have delivery come to their door! This is ethically wrong of USPS to tell Amazon they can fulfill the delivery contract then leave the elderly and others stranded!
In addition to this post office’s problems delivering, they also frequently leave packages on the side of the highway to be blown around in the draft of cars traveling at 75mph.
I too have been fearful to interact with the man at the post office. It is distressing to read the other reviews and find I am not alone in my concerns.
A post office is the heart of a community and this affects the value of the town and puts stress on people, adding to further problems. I have compassion for postal workers under stress and I am heartbroken that this lovely town is dealing with this post office under such poor, stressful conditions. 💔

The ladies that work here are friendly and helpful, unlike the man. He is the rudest, most condescending person I have ever met.

Shameful how this post office treats local people. It used to be a great place where you could count on them. Not anymore. They do not care about taking care of people anymore. It's sad.
