If you're not ready to move forward then you're required to step out of line to complete whatever you need to do to allow others in line to proceed toward the counter for assistance. There was an older woman holding up the line because she wanted to maintain her spot in line while completing her packaging at the table. I asked the another customer who was standing in line directly in front of me if she was in line for assistance is when she stated that the older woman at the table was next in line but she actually wasn't in line. This isn't the process people-when you're having to wait in line. You can't hold up the line just because you don't want to lose your spot. Everybody else have other things to do just as you do.
