I had a very disappointing experience at this USPS location. I was mailing my wedding invitations, and they were under the weight for one stamp and not thicker than 1/4 inch. Because they had a wax seal inside the envelope (not outside), I simply asked if they could be hand canceled to be safe. The employee named Tara responded with, “Hell no.” I was honestly shocked by the tone and lack of professionalism. I asked additional questions to understand whether adding a second stamp would prevent the envelopes from going through the machine, and they told me it would still go through. That made it confusing why I would pay extra if it wouldn’t change the handling. I even offered to hand stamp them myself to make it easier, but instead I overheard Tara tell her coworker, “She doesn’t understand.” That felt rude and disrespectful. I was simply trying to make sure my wedding invitations were mailed safely and correctly. I completely understand policies, but there is no excuse for speaking to customers in that manner. Customer service should be helpful and respectful, especially when someone is asking reasonable questions.

Best staff I’ve ever experienced coming to the post office. Very helpful and goes the extra mile to help everyone. They truly treat people like people even at the end of their workday.

Posting this the day of the incident. Brought in four small envelopes that I needed to print labels for from USPS QR codes.. A new female employee at the counter, not one of the normal workers, was rude and obnoxious. She said she would not help me and that I needed to take care of label related details before I brought the packages in. Fortunately, one of the normal clerks was there and she assisted me. What really bothered me was how rude this aforementioned “new employee” was. I say new, but maybe I’ve just never seen her before. I’ve been to this location for years i’ve never had the displeasure of encountering her. Maybe I’ve just been lucky. She was very rude and very vocal about all of this. She literally pushed my packages back at me and said “awww nawwww!” The office was full of people and she could not have been more unpleasant. USPS, you need to do better with your hiring. .

I ordered a package on 31 December was supposed to take five days to get to me the following Thursday I get a notification saying that the package is a day early that it had arrived at the Deer Park USPS office did not get delivered so I assume that they did not make it on the truck following day. It does not get delivered again. Tracking gets updated that the package is in Florida package makes its way back to the Deer Park USPS office. I go up there explain the situation that it says that it Is here lady at the counter didn’t even bother looking at my phone before saying no it’s not here that that’s Ing is wrong, even though it’s specifically stated that it was at the Deer Park location Told her that I just wanted to make sure that it doesn’t get sent to another state again check the tracking again And it’s in New York
