- WGWilliam GambinoDec 22, 20231.0You’d think a small-town USPS would be efficiently run, but no. Not this place. Severely understaffed. They don’t have any official drivers employed by the post office, so they hire drivers through a 3rd Party company that doesn’t even deliver packages to most addresses that are remote, despite those addresses being VERY clearly marked. Bro, Damon has less than 300 residents - these drivers that USPS employs, have ONE job. Unsure why the company that hires out these drivers doesn’t let them go beyond a certain distance - especially when the town they are delivering to has so few residents. I suspect stinginess and/or laziness. Never before in Texas, have I ever had to physically come up to a post office to pick up my mail because their drivers don’t do their jobs. I work a lot, and by the time I am off work, the post office is closed. I don’t have time to pick up packages at the post office each time I have a delivery. I have to take time out of my work day by asking my Boss if I can go pick up my packages from the post office before they close - time that is docked out of my pay. And what’s worse, is that this post office has returned a couple of packages back to sender the moment they receive packages for me without letting me know! USPS should not be allowed to hire 3rd Party Drivers for the aforementioned reasons. Do better, Damon USPS. If y'all want to hire an official driver, hit me up, and I'll be more than happy to pick up the slack.
