Be ready to spend 30 minutes waiting on someone to help you with a return. Aparrently there is only one person per shift working that spot.

I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but after three to four consistently negative experiences over the past few months, I feel it’s necessary.
I am a small business owner in Dallas, and this Staples location is the closest one to my studio, which means I’ve been a frequent customer. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere moving forward.
Customer service here has been extremely disappointing, specifically with one employee named Louren. On multiple visits, she has failed to acknowledge customers, does not greet or communicate, and has an openly negative attitude. Receipts are placed or slammed on the counter without a word, eye-rolling is common, and basic courtesy seems nonexistent.
Yesterday’s experience was the final straw. I waited patiently in line to return an Amazon item with my husband. I observed her being friendly and chatty with the group ahead of us, then completely disengaged with the next customer, and then again with us. She did not greet us at all. I initiated the interaction, explained I had a return, and placed the items on the counter.
The return consisted of two metal shelves that were heavy and slightly stuck together. My husband politely mentioned that there were two shelves, ( he wanted to help her so that as she pulled them towards her from the counter they wouldn’t fall on her since they were heavy ) at which point she rolled her eyes and gave him a very rude look. She then struggled to handle the return, couldn’t manage her tape gun, walked away without saying anything, and returned with another employee who ultimately took over. During this time, she stood behind him making faces instead of assisting or communicating.
I’ve been working since I was 16 ( 27 years of work experience) and started my career in retail. I’ve worked in customer-facing roles ranging from retail , clothing stores to hospitality to healthcare. I understand firsthand how demanding customer service can be—but basic professionalism, communication, and courtesy are not optional.
I understand that everyone has bad days, but those frustrations should be left at the door when clocking in. Customers should not bear the weight of an employee’s bad day — especially when this behavior has occurred repeatedly.
A simple hello goes a long way. A little respect goes a long way. Unfortunately, that standard is not being met here. Perhaps this employee would be better suited for a behind-the-scenes role where customer interaction is limited, as her demeanor consistently creates an uncomfortable experience for customers.
In addition to this review, I plan to share this feedback directly with corporate.
