They need to have employees who are just standing around not doing anything help with Amazon Returns

Extremely disappointed with this Staples location. There is only one self-service printer available, and I was told that online orders wouldn’t be processed until the following day. On top of that, the passport photo service was very poor — I have serious doubts the photos will even be accepted. Definitely not the experience I expected.

Good place. Straight forward and large variety of items. Staff is nice even when Karen showed up this weekend and was mad she went to the wrong line and wasnt being waited on while people at the register were being checked out. Sorry you cant see where the line is, but Christine wasnt your problem.

I went to this Staples today to do a quick Amazon return and had to bring my 1.5-year-old with me. Anyone with a toddler knows how difficult it can be to stand still anywhere, but this should have been a fast drop-off.
When I arrived, a gentleman initially asked how he could help and directed me to the Amazon return counter. At that counter, there was one employee a lady who later said her name was Kristy who was joined by another employee shortly after which was an older gentleman & they were standing there with no customers around except me. I was the only person waiting with a package and clearly struggling to keep my toddler contained. Despite this, neither employee acknowledged me. They talked to each other, avoided eye contact, and did not offer help.
The male employee walked away to organize shelves that were empty. The female employee decided to carry an Amazon box elsewhere instead of helping me. When she returned, another customer had walked up, so she immediately began checking them out — even though I had been standing there unacknowledged the entire time.
At that point, I asked if someone was coming to help me. She told me to “give it a few minutes,” implying the other employee would help, but he continued organizing shelves while she kept checking out every new customer that arrived. I asked again who would be helping me pointing out that it’s not easy to wait very long in my current situation and explained that I had already been waiting. She said it was just the two of them and that she would help me eventually.
I then asked why I had been ignored when no one else was there initially. She said it was because there was a line — which was simply not true when I first walked up. The employee who had initially directed me there popped up all of a sudden and said “Staples customers come first,” which made no sense. Staples has a partnership with Amazon, and I was a Staples customer. More importantly, there had been no one else waiting when I arrived. It also felt unnecessary and uncomfortable for him to jump in and “team up” instead of de-escalating or showing understanding. I was not rude or yelling at any point.
I explained that the return takes seconds and that I was juggling a toddler, a package, and standing there without even being acknowledged. Instead of showing empathy, it felt like I was intentionally made to wait longer after speaking up — while they helped everyone else first.
When the return was finally processed, it took exactly seconds, confirming my point. The interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily cold, down to the tone used.
I wasn’t asking for special treatment — just basic acknowledgment and empathy. Any parent understands how hard it is to wait with a toddler, especially after being ignored. This was disappointing not just from a customer service standpoint, but on a human level. Apparently, I wasn’t considered a customer at all though — and because of this experience, I definitely won’t be from this point on.
