Nice people in the actual building but my delivery person on my mail route is scared to drive down my driveway on the rare occasion a package is to big for mailbox. Come on lady the road is actually passable

The service provided by the Centerville USPS has presented inconsistencies. Initially, upon relocation, timely deliveries were observed. However, a trend has emerged where packages, particularly those requiring special handling due to size, are not delivered, and a notice of attempted delivery is left instead. Despite specific instructions to leave packages at the door or alert us via the driveway, this has not been consistently followed. While UPS has successfully accommodated these requests, the USPS service in this area appears to utilize private contractors driving personal vehicles without uniform, and the drivers tend to be older than those typically encountered in a city environment. These drivers are very nice and sweet when I get to talk to them Regarding package delivery protocols, I propose the following: Upon approaching a delivery location where the presence of a dog is known or suspected, the driver should proceed to the residence, briefly activate the vehicle's horn, and pause to observe for any canine response. If no dog is apparent, the package should be delivered promptly and securely. In instances where direct access to the residence is not feasible, I recommend placing the package near the mailbox and sounding the horn upon departure. This action serves to notify the homeowner of the delivery location. This approach aligns with common practices in many urban areas. While the risk of theft is a consideration, the local environment is understood to be relatively safe. This strategy offers a viable and secure delivery option. I am optimistic that these adjustments will contribute to the continued success of USPS.
