I’d called ahead and asked how much would it be to change out the lock on my resident mailbox. I was quoted $35 over the phone. When I came in they tried to charge me $50, insisting the price had just been increased. As it turned out I needed to go to the Leander post office to request a lock change. And guess how much Leander post office charged me? They charged me the standard $35.

I had never been to this post office before, but it was convenient to something else I had to do and I needed to mail a very small package. I was there at about 1130 in the morning on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded as expected; not easy to get a parking space BUT many spaces exist. There was a very long line, but I really only needed the self- service machine, which also had a line but it was very short, and I was not in a hurry. The machine was not able to read the dimensions of my package, but that is my fault because I had it squashed very flatly and unevenly. So I ended up in the regular line which was not very long by then, and the clerk who helped me, Pat, was so super nice…from southern California 😊…I’m not sure I could be that nice for hours on end! I would return to this post office, most likely; it’s a pretty convenient drive for me, easier than where I was going before to the one at Sam Bass and 35. Based on a 2.6 average I guess I should beware, but I’ll risk it again.

I brought a batch of standard sized wedding invitations to a Georgetown usps, had one weighed by the rep there to make sure I have the right number of stamps on each of them, and then made a second trip there to get them hand canceled with no issues. I had a leftover batch of late RSVPers and brought it to this Cedar Park location to get hand canceled. The guy, large white male with a beard, was very rude from the onset, opened with "yeah?" and a grimace on his face after I said hello, and when I asked to get this small batch of invites hand canceled, he took one of them and walked away, came back and said each one would need 7 more stamps as they are considered packages, not letters. This is a standard greeting card sized invitation, I told him that I confirmed with the other usps location and they had no issues, and he refused to listen and said I need to go back to that location bc he refuses to process these unless I get 7 more stamps for each invitation. The man needs to get re-trained in customer service as well as USPS standards and what is acceptable for letters. I took it to the Round Rock usps location, who also had no issue with them. I confirmed with them that this is the right size and right number of stamps, and they confirmed. That man was having a bad morning and taking it out on me, he should not be in customer service. Edit: after seeing some of the other reviews for this location, this employee seems to be a repeat offender of bad customer service. I hope management sees the reviews and acts accordingly.
