I try to not attribute to maliciousness what can be accounted for by ignorance, but I'm having a lot of trouble doing that in this case.
I printed out the instructions for shipping the package and handed it to the clerk. I verbally repeated what it said on the paper (it is attached to this review). It clearly says USPS and return shipping. She processed everything and showed me the review screen. The addresses were correct and I said, "That's right; did you do the return postage?" The box was facing her on the scale, so I couldn't see the label, and she said, "Yes, it's right there below the shipping label". She printed a receipt. That evening I wanted to use tracking to see how it was doing, and USPS didn't know anything about it. I then noticed that the tracking number started with 1Z, which is UPS, so I checked their tracking, and sure enough that was how it was shipped. I wondered if I should have paid more attention to the receipt, and when I looked at it, it only said, "Ground Advantage". No place on the receipt mentions the carrier. Very convenient and very conducive to a bait and switch. Why would the carrier not be mentioned on the receipt??? I thought, OK, let's see how this plays out. The recipient received the package, on time and without incident...BUT IT HAD NO RETURN POSTAGE. And horror of horrors, whilst she was processing my package, she was teaching someone the system. I fail to see how even gross incompetence could explain what she did. It sounds like out and out fraud. I will never set foot in that store again. Amazon recommends them for returns, but I'll drive to Colleyville and use Whole Foods from now on. I can only conclude that the positive reviews are based on people that wanted to use UPS, and they are very helpful and friendly. And crooked as a dog's hind leg!
