I came into this UPS Store about 15 minutes before closing with two items: an Amazon return and a uniquely shaped package I needed help sending.
I was polite and simply asked a few questions about the best way to handle both.
Unfortunately, the employee assisting me (wearing a black hat with an Umbreon on it) was extremely unhelpful. When I asked questions, he would mostly just stare at me or mumble responses without explaining anything. At one point, he tried to charge me for what should have been a free Amazon return, without clearly explaining why.
I didn’t initially have the QR code and didn’t realize I needed to complete the return differently. Instead of simply telling me that, he offered no guidance at all. I had to figure it out myself, and once I did, it confirmed that the return was indeed free - no thanks to the assistance I received.
I’m not expecting anyone to “hold my hand,” but basic communication and customer service go a long way. A simple 'this needs a QR code' would have resolved everything quickly. His lack of eye contact, unclear communication, and obvious unwillingness to help made the experience frustrating. I can only imagine how difficult this interaction would be for someone older or with hearing difficulties.
The other employees seemed occupied, so I won’t fault them, but this particular interaction left a very negative impression.
I hope management addresses this, because customers should be able to ask basic questions without feeling dismissed.

If I need to be absolutely sure something I'm "mailing" will get where I'm sending it, I started here at the Hardin Valley UPS Store. Efficient, quick, friendly, helpful. There's almost always two people working the registers when there are more than 2 to 3 customers. They seem to understand life is busy, and they do their best to make sure they do not waste your time waiting in line. And while I try to show up prepared, if I need a box, tube, envelope, packing materials, etc. they have exactly what I need. They will even pack whatever it is for you! I wish everything ran as smoothly as Chick-fil-A and the Hardin Valley UPS store.

everytime i go here it is literally amazing. i’m in and out, employees are friendly, been here probably 10 times now and have yet to be let down. this place is like a breathe of fresh air
Latoya was exceptional with customer service and she was helpful and very knowledgeable.
