The employee handling my return scanned my QR code before confirming the package was ready to be shipped. After scanning it, he then told me the original shoebox needed to be placed inside an additional box. I left briefly to get the required box, and when I returned, I was informed that the QR code “no longer worked” because he had already scanned it, rendering it invalid. As a result of his mistake, I was told there was “nothing they could do” and that I now had to contact the retailer’s customer service to obtain a new return code, a process that involved over an hour on hold with no answer. This was entirely avoidable and caused by a basic lack of understanding of the return process. Scanning a return code before the package is ready is careless and shows a complete lack of training or attention to detail. Instead of taking responsibility or offering a solution, the employee simply shrugged it off and passed the problem onto me. This location wasted my time, created unnecessary stress, and demonstrated zero concern for the customer experience. I would not recommend this UPS office to anyone unless they want their return mishandled and turned into a problem they didn’t create. UPS seriously needs to retrain staff at this location. One simple mistake turned into a major inconvenience, and the customer paid the price.
