Manager Mike is the most professional individual I have had help me in over a decade!! AND it was on a phone call!!
Friday night I ordered custom posters Online at Staples.com with in-store pick up for Monday at 5:30pm at the Staples Greer location.
And here is were it all goes awry….because when I didn’t get a “your posters are in production” text I decided to just go to the store at 5:30.
Unfortunately, I was told the posters weren’t ready and would not be ready till Tuesday at 5:30.
Well at 3pm on Tuesday, after not getting any sort of text or email, yet again, I decided to call the store (I’ve had issues at this store in the past when placing an online order after hours/ on weekends with my order getting “misplaced” or not found). This time I was told the poster printer went down and I should have got a call to let me know (but i hadn’t) and maybe, if the printer was fixed, they could printed by Thursday or I could try to handle online.
These posters are for a graduation party, so I needed them quickly, therefore, printed local.
I went back online to Staples.com and had a (what I thought at the time) helpful Online Chat, where I was told my order was now able to be printed at (this Staples) Pleasantburg location and it would be ready the next day (Wednesday, still in time for the party though).
To my surprise in 30 minutes I get a call from the Staples Pleasantburg store that my posters were ready! So wonderful!!
However, when I looked at the email receipt the price was listed as double (oh man!).
I then logged in online to see what had happened. Apparently, I the original order (and all its coupons and discounts) had been cancelled and a new order created and had been rebilled, including a rush charge.
SO I decided to called this location, Pleasantburg, to see if they could reapply the discounts and coupon and remove the rush fee (fix the price back to the original.)
After 2 rings Mike answered the phone (1st level of professionalism, now days, one expects at least 5-8 rings and then being put on hold at least one time IF an actual human answers at all…)
I quickly told Mike my name and that I was calling about my print order, which he found immediately and let me know.
I then proceeded to explain to Mike this entire story. He listened patiently and politely the whole 4 minutes.
At the conclusion of my story I said “so I’m not sure what I need to do or pay since my son is coming to pick them up and I needed to let him know if he now had to pay.”
Mike simply said, “I’ll take care of it.”
I’m not gonna lie, I thought I misheard his gentle, thoughtful answer. (It seems we no longer live in an age of any type of customer service let alone sincere professionalism).
So, to clarify that I’d correctly heard him, I said “Sooo, my son is coming now to pick them up, does he need to pay the difference?”
Mike asked for my son’s name, which I told him.
Then said “I’ll take care of this.”
I was now seriously overcome with tear-welling gratitude and speechlessness!! (Which by the length of this review one infers I’m not a typically “speechless” type).
I responded “Please, tell me your name” he replied “Mike the Manger.” I thanked him and expressed my gratitude!
At the store, when my son walked in he was promptly helped/ directed to the posters!
As he was heading to pick them up my son saw Mike who, though he didn’t help him himself (because Mike was politely helping another customer with router questions) Mike motioned to have the other employee hand him the posters.
After this remarkable act I just absolutely had to leave a review for Mike at this Staples location!
I will be exclusively using this location for all my future printing needs (even though it’s a bit more out of the way from my home). Mike just gave a big win to Staples in my book, I had lost faith in Staples to be a reliable source for my printing needs, but Mike, in a single, professionally handled phone call, with a “make it right” attitude has restored my faith!
A thousand thanks Mike!

We ordered some plain business cards. Designed online and printed in store. It was only a 24 hour turnaround and the cards were exactly how we ordered them. It was especially great to buy local even though it is a national chain. We felt like we were supporting our community.

They don’t like working the balloon counter. Asked three different employees to help me and my small child and all gave a different excuse.

I called to ask a question I was greeted with IMMEDIATE rudeness I had to look at my phone to be sure I called the right number I asked could I speak with a manager the girl said nothing I said hello are you the manager she aggressively said no then the phone hung up, I called back and the manager answered before I could ask my question I told him just how rude his employer was and he stated I don’t think she meant it like that…….Excuse me! No way I would have went through the trouble of informing you of this if it wasn’t a problem. He could have apologized and said what can I help you with and it would have been over but because of that I hung up on him no way was that okay! Yall open at 9 it was barely 11:30 so you clocked in with such a nasty attitude tells me all I needed to know!
