  I want to share my observations about a disappointing experience earlier today at the Elgin Post Office. While I was waiting in line, a family came in seeking passport services for their young daughter, relying on the advertised walk-in hours (Monday–Tuesday, 3:00–4:30 PM). The Postmaster was dismissive and refused to assist them, insisting they make an appointment despite their reasonable concern that appointment times conflicted with the child’s school schedule and that they were following the walk-in guidance posted on the official website. I offered my place in line to help, but I was met with the same discourteous tone. Additionally, another customer in line seeking passport services was also turned away. It appeared that anyone requesting passport assistance was being discouraged from receiving help that afternoon. I ultimately chose to leave, so I cannot say whether those customers were eventually helped. However, the interaction I witnessed was uncomfortable and disheartening — especially knowing a young child had to observe adults being spoken to in such a disrespectful manner. I hope the Post Office leadership takes steps to improve communication, professionalism, and customer service so families and community members feel supported rather than dismissed.

  The clerk claims they cant scan a USPS qr code from a phone I have to have a physical piece of paper that is not true and i have sent packages through usps that way he does not want to do it for some reason completely unhelpful but he burned 20 mins trying to chat up this girl infront of me just to assess he cant do anything within 15 seconds

  My Dads packages have been going missing for years. Two years in a row my nieces Christmas packages have not been delivered. Christmas cards don’t ’show up. Birthday cards don’t show. Items ordered online go missing. If it has tracking, it says delivered, but nothing arrives. No one is stealing the packages. My Dad has literally been outside watching the mailman drive past his mailbox and not even stop, but then receive a delivered notice. Bills and junk are consistently delivered, but ANYTHING looking like a present goes missing. This post office needs to be investigated.

  i accidentally order my xmas package to two appt numbers, i was so upset but thankfully they were able to locate them and help me! i appreciate it so much, i try to make my single disable dad xmas a best a possible, and those were his gifts. i appreciate yall so much! thank you!

  Made an appointment for 10:15 on a Saturday morning, got here at 10:00 and go in and wait in line only for them to tell us the passport person didn’t show up. Why didn’t it send us a notification or something?
