PNC failed to issue replacement ATM cards before expiration, forcing me to spend over 40 minutes on the phone correcting a problem entirely of the bank’s making.
What should have been automatic turned into a scripted, repetitive call involving transfers, repeated verification, and no clear ownership. Nearly an hour of my time was required just to request new cards. I was then told they “should” arrive in 3–7 business days — leaving me without functioning debit cards because of PNC’s failure.
In a situation like this, the appropriate response would be to overnight replacement cards. Instead, the burden and delay were placed on the customer.
To make matters worse, their cardless ATM access did not work. That leaves me with no reliable way to withdraw cash or deposit checks in the meantime. Losing access to basic banking functions due to internal process failures is not a minor inconvenience — it’s a serious operational breakdown.
The branch staff have been courteous and professional. Unfortunately, the broader systems behind them are inefficient and unaccountable. Banking should provide seamless access to your own money. When that fundamental expectation isn’t met, trust erodes quickly.
I am actively moving my accounts elsewhere.

Changed online banking format. Instead of a summary page, it's a novel requires scrolling though pages. Has major issues with not reporting credits on credit card account. Currently online payment is off line, called no "consultant" after 15 minutes, hung up. PNC a peanut bank that took National City Corp after subprime crises and became large and stupid. Find a smaller friendly bank.

Laughable. But full disclosure — this isn’t a reflection on the tellers, bankers, or call center reps. Most of them have been polite, patient, and as helpful as they can be, which makes sense — it’s their way of giving before the bank takes through its all-encompassing policies. The real issue lies entirely with the bank’s system and how it handles overdraft charges.
They charge outrageous fees for overdrafts, and even though they claim to give you a few days to make the deposit, it feels like the system is selective about when it actually works. When you truly need the overdraft protection, it doesn’t activate. But when a bill or draft comes through, the bank somehow “lets it go through” at its discretion instead of applying a consistent limit.
It’s a twisted, manipulative setup designed to maximize overdraft fees, and I’ll be closing all my accounts for everyday use. If you do overdraw and get hit with multiple fees, good luck getting even one or two waived as a courtesy — it’s like pulling teeth.
It feels like the traditional banking industry is feeling the heat from online banking and crypto, but instead of evolving, they just tighten their grip. Taking care of the people who keep their system alive clearly isn’t part of their business plan.

If I could leave no stars I would. I have business and personal accounts with PNC, and this is by far the worst bank I have ever dealt with. There is no accountability when they make mistakes, sorry does not cut it. I will be moving all my accounts.

Take your business elsewhere, especially if you need business banking services. PNC completely messed up our payment platform, which resulted in standard payments getting rejected. They took no responsibility for the fees, losses, and lost time we spent fixing the situation. They even refused to refund the $300 in late fees we were charged as a result of their mistakes. Found a much more supportive banking partner in Chase.
