I told the person behind the counter that I just needed a box to put it in, he goes and gets a box, puts the item in the box, throws a bit of bubble wrap in with it, and charges me *$17*. I didn't ask for any of that, I just asked for a box, which other people there have just sold me for $2 and change. When the item got delivered it said I got charged for the package being overweight. I weighed the item and it was 1 lb 4 oz, I put 2lb for the label because it was fairly small and I figured a box wouldn't weigh more than a pound. The weight claimed by FedEx was **8 lbs** So not only did I get charged $17 for a box, I had to pay $10 for an incorrectly weighed item. This was all for a Mercari sale for about $40, so i basically broke even just shipping it.
