The clerk refused stating USPS doesn't allow any lithium ion batteries to ship via air and it must go ground. So my $50 Express label I had already purchased was refused and I paid another $17 to ship it USPS Ground, where it wouldn't get there until Friday. Researching the USPS regulations, USPS Publication 52, Section 349.221, which clearly permits small lithium batteries (less than 100 Wh) installed in equipment for air transport, as long as the battery/device is not damaged or defective. So the gift has been delayed 5 days and I'm probably out of $50.
