- NKName To KnowMar 18, 20261.0I had an extremely frustrating experience at the Lackawaxen Post Office. I went to pick up packages and was initially told I needed ID—which I had. Then I was told that wasn’t enough because I didn’t have the pink slip they leave. The problem is, this wasn’t even an official USPS notice—just a reused pink slip with handwritten information. Since when does a non-official piece of paper override a valid government-issued ID with the correct address? The employee even said, “I don’t know you,” which is exactly why ID exists—to verify identity. Requiring a reused, handwritten slip over proper identification makes no sense. To make matters worse, they don’t seem to ensure all packages are released at once. What happens if you’re given only one package and later find out there was another? You’re expected to come back again—with a slip you may not have? It’s incredibly inefficient and wastes customers’ time. On top of that, the limited hours are very inconvenient—closing for lunch with no coverage and only being open until 11 AM on Saturdays. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but the lack of consistency, unclear policies, and poor customer service made this experience unacceptable.

- GCGinnie ColemanJun 16, 20241.0If I could go lower than 1star I would. This post office arbitrarily decides what it is going to deliver. I recently have had 5 packages returned to the sender saying no such address exists, because my box number was not on the shipping label. I'll admit that was my fault, however I get junk mail and other mail without my box number in my box. So post office, you can't have it both ways and do what is easy for you. And the excuse that you have new people and it takes too much for them to cross reference is ridiculous. That's their job, to deliver all the mail, not just what is easy for them.
