- CGCameron G6 days ago1.0I went in to get a coil spiral binding for a Calendar I made my friend for Christmas. The calendar was already printed and trimmed. All I needed was holes punched and a binding put through 12 sheets of paper. The employee told me it would be TWENTY DOLLARS. I couldn’t believe it. I ended up just buying a handheld machine to do it myself from Amazon for $25. They even sell professional grade ones for like $60. People wonder why everyone stopped shopping at stores and started buying things on Amazon these days. This is why. To be clear, the employee was friendly, apologetic, and understanding. This is not an issue with her. This is a Staples issue. Shame on you for making things unaffordable. It will be your company’s downfall.

She makes it more than known. The gentleman before me tried to speak to her with a good day and she totally ignored him. Had the meanest look on her face. The young girl at the register told her to smile and she said only when I’m outta here. I went next I tried to say hello and she again just ignored me and mean mugged it. Look, I get working in retail can be lousy at times BUT to treat people like trash because you don’t want to be there is disgusting and completely disrespectful. Management really needs to talk to this young lady and she needs to be more respectful. Both times I’ve been there and both times this person is miserable. I don’t want to get anyone terminated from their job but this is unexceptionable.

After visiting 5 other stores and being ignored or taken for a fool because of my age I was ready to give up but I had to stop at Giant in Union Deposit and there was Staples! I remembered they sold computers and have always given me great service so I went in and with the help of an incredible associate I had exactly what I needed and at a better price than anyone else could offer! I'm a happy camper and a big shout out to the wonderful people at Staples!
