I've lived in Fairfield for 50+ years. Last year, I filed my Federal Tax return by mail from this post office using a #10 envelope and first class postage to Kansas City. I sent it around April 1st, 2 weeks before taxes are due. I figured 2 weeks was enough time to get it to it's destination. About a month later, my envelope is mysteriously returned to my mailbox by this post office saying I was 28 cents short on postage, so my tax return never reached it's destination in time and my taxes were ultimately filed late. I live 200 yards from this post office, why did it take a month to return it to me if I was short on postage? Why would a postal employee hold up mailing a letter that is clearly time sensitive around tax time addressed to the IRS over 28 cents in postage? This is the type of people you have working at this location. Ever since then I make the 20 minute drive to Cashtown for anything mail related.

I ordered a hockey goalie bag off Amazon. The package was coming from MI. I got a slip in the mail that they attempted to deliver... they didn't. So I went down to the PO to pick it up. But on the slip, they wanted to extort me for $162.48 . So I go down there and see it right behind the counter. I stated to them that I was here to pick up that package. They said that I would owe the $162.48. So I asked why... they told me because of who it was shipped from didn't put the right dimensions on the package and weight. I stated to them, that not my fault. And that the postal service should have caught that mistake BEFORE delivering it to fairfield. I said to them, "it's already here. You delivered it already. " They still denied to release it to me because of their mistake. So I told them to send it back then. There is no way in hell that a hockey goalie bag costs almost $200 to ship.
