I had one of the worst experiences at Staples today and feel the need to share it. There were only two employees working, and one of them—a girl—was clearly overwhelmed and doing all the work by herself. Meanwhile, Ben was standing around, not helping, and came across as rude when customers asked for assistance. The store was busy, and instead of teamwork, it felt unorganized and frustrating. I understand being short-staffed, but poor attitude and lack of effort made the situation much worse. Customer service should be a priority, and today it definitely was not.

The store is seriously understaffed. You can’t expect a cashier to also handle customer service at the same time. A person cannot defy time or space, yet Staples seems to expect exactly that from their employees.
Staples also has frustrating pricing practices. The same item often costs more in the store than it does online with store pickup. In my case, it was about a ten dollar difference.
During their Black Friday sale, a code was required to scan items, which makes the sale less accessible to everyone.
When I visited, the cashier was ringing up about seven people while I waited at customer service. I wasn’t realizing, for returns, I needed to be in the cashier line. She told me I needed to be in the cashier line for returns and skipped me and moved on to the next customer at the customer service desk where I'd been waiting for a long time. I asked her not to do that. She completed my return, but seemed hurried and flustered. I even had to pull my own receipt off the machine. A person cannot defy time or space, yet Staples expects employees to do the impossible. I believe she was doing her best under impossible circumstances. Staples probably underpays her while expecting her to do far too much.
I will not be shopping at Staples again. I called their customer service to report the understaffing. I am not upset with the cashier trying to manage multiple roles.
The first time I called, I was only allowed to discuss rewards points (that did not apply). The second time, the system would not connect me properly. By the third attempt, I had to repeatedly ask for a representative before I was finally connected, and even then, the representative insisted on a customer service number, account number, or phone number associated with Staples, which I did not have, after the automated system had insisted on the same as well.
This was a frustrating experience, and I am done with Staples.

When my home computer was hacked, the Staples EasyTech team was priceless. Kyle was so helpful and assured me that they deal with this kind of thing daily. They quickly took the needed steps to scan everything and removed the Malware, scanned for viruses, and assured me that my computer was safe to use again. It is good to know that they are there for me, should I need them for anything in the future.

Disappointed. I walked around for 20 minutes without any store contact. They only had three people working in the store with a long line of customers waiting to talk to the service desk by the front door. I'm looking for a IDE hard drive enclosure and the floor guy had no idea what I was talking about. They do not sell cellphones. I walked out. They are sure to go out of business soon.
