I always purchase or attempt to purchase office items from Staples. Good service quality merchandise. Never unless no choices available would we use Walmart. FAX and Copy machines area a time saver and nice finished quality.

I went to drop off an Amazon return and there was one person ahead of me at the return counter. After completing that return, the employee switched to the checkout line, which is typically what happens since there is usually only one person working the front. However, instead of switching back and forth, he rang up one customer… then another… then another.
When I asked if the return counter was closed, he said no, but that “they” (assuming he meant management) want checkout customers handled first and that there was “only one more person” in line. I pointed out that there could easily be another and another after that.
Only once the checkout line was empty did he return to the return counter. I asked if this is how it’s done now because I want to make an informed decision going forward, and whether I should just use the UPS Store instead. He reiterated that this is what “they” want him to do.
I don’t know what kind of arrangement Amazon has with Staples for processing returns, but I highly doubt Staples is doing it for free. People returning Amazon packages are customers too, and if this setup is meant to bring people into the store and encourage them to spend money, it’s doing a pretty poor job.

Hit or miss some of the workers are excellent, others are vaguely rude. I had a huge box with a label and tape and was asked if I paid for the box. Ma'am I just got here.
