Using the United States Postal Service to ship anything valuable feels less like a service and more like a gamble where the odds are clearly posted and you are still expected to act surprised when you lose. I sent a sealed, well-packaged box with tracking and insurance. It was scanned, processed, moved along their network just like it should be. It even made it to the final destination city. What it did not do was arrive intact. The box showed up cut open and retaped, with the actual contents removed. The only thing delivered successfully was an empty shell. There is no reasonable explanation for that outcome other than theft somewhere in the chain of custody. Packages do not open themselves. Contents do not evaporate. At some point between drop off and delivery, someone decided the inside of my box belonged to them. What followed was the predictable routine. File a claim. Upload documents. Provide receipts. Provide photos. Wait. Receive a denial written in sterile, impersonal language that somehow implies you did something wrong. Appeal. Wait again. Another denial. No specifics. No accountability. No payout. The most frustrating part is not even the loss itself. It is the realization that the system appears structured to protect USPS from responsibility rather than protect the customer from loss. Insurance sounds reassuring at the counter. In practice it feels symbolic. When a package can be opened, emptied, resealed, and delivered as if nothing happened, and the official response is essentially a shrug, that is not an isolated mishap. That is a trust problem. If you are sending something you care about, understand that once it leaves your hands, you may be financing someone else’s shopping spree while being told everything was handled appropriately.

Hispanic lady working until the closing hours is sweet and always in a good mood even when a bunch of people pile in two minutes before closing.

If I could rate it a 0 I would, 1 is too generous. One employee is constantly rude and gives an attitude. I sell on Mercari and eBay and I’ve never had an issue with dropping things off before. This woman tells me that the pricing on the labels aren’t correct and continues to offer no way to help me with the issue. I told her I’ve dropped off envelopes like this before and no one has had a problem and my buyers have had no issues receiving items. She asked the other employee who says it’s fine, she continues to scoff and shake her head at me while putting them in the bin, not scanning them, and trying to take another customer. I asked her if it was good and if I could go and she just gave me more of an attitude and said “well she said they were fine”. I just walked out. She was also rude and unprofessional with the other people in line she “helped”. I’ve never had to deal with someone so rude and unprofessional EVER.

Thursday evening, close to business hour ending time, there were 7–8 people waiting in line. Unfortunately, the employee assisting with mail spent a long time chatting with a customer, which slowed things down significantly. Even with many people waiting, the process continued at a very slow pace, and there was little movement in the line for nearly 20 minutes. I eventually had to leave without mailing my package. I understand wanting to be helpful, but being more mindful of the line—especially near closing time—would greatly improve the customer experience.
