Usually, we happily take our Amazon returns to Kohls. Unfortunately, it was not an option this time. This store has mixed reviews due to inconsistencies in the services they provide as well as how they treat some of their customers. I had a bit of a wait when I arrived, as the customer in front of me had multiple Amazon returns. I didn't mind the wait, as I watched the employee carefully bag & tape each one of her returns. When it was my turn, I was told by a different employee that I could not simply affix the label to the box, as Amazon would not be able to resell the product. He told me to come back once I had the item properly ready to ship. I inquired about the plain plastic the other employee was using to wrap everyone else's Amazon returns. The employee told me it was not free for me & I would be charged $4.00 for this service, even though the other customers were not charged at all. I felt this was silly, but wanted to be finished with this transaction, so I complied. Luckily, Amazon was able to remove this store as an option for any future returns, as we do not wish to return.

By far the best UPS store in Salem, the team has successfully shipped out hundreds of packages for me with zero errors, and they’re always friendly, efficient, and on top of everything. Their consistency and professionalism make my life so much easier. I would personally like to thank Liza, Emily, Patrick, Caroline, Tyler, and the entire rest of the team, as they have all been incredible. I look forward to visiting this store on a daily basis.

I had to get important legal documents to Ottawa Canada overnight, had no idea how to proceed except Ottowa's instruction not to use USPS as Canada's postal system was on strike. The clerk that helped me looked up several options for speed, accuracy, cost -- she was phenomenal! Especially given this was not an every-day occurrence for her either. We learned together! I got word from Ottawa the next day all had made it on time. Thank you so much UPS Store for your much-needed help!

After my two separate attempts to share my experience with the store and also the UPS corporate failed, I have decided to share my email complaint here: I am writing to express concern about the notary service I received at your store on Saturday, September 13th, at approximately 10:15 AM. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted and explained that I needed a signature notarized on a government-issued request form. The form included a section that requires notarization by the signer, as well as a separate section clearly labeled for completion by an official after submission. The interaction became problematic when the team member assisting me appeared uncertain about the form and then consulted a colleague. After minimal review, the second team member stated that the form could not be notarized due to blank fields—despite those fields being clearly designated for government use. I attempted to show official instructions that clarified this, but neither employee reviewed them. I was then told that notarizing the document would violate state rules and was advised to seek an individual notary or attorney instead. The interaction ended abruptly as the employees shifted attention to other customers, leaving me feeling dismissed. More concerning, I left the store feeling that I was not treated with the same level of consideration and respect as other customers who entered afterward. The tone, lack of willingness to review the document, and the dismissive remarks created a sense that I was being treated differently. Regardless of intent, the experience left me feeling discriminated against, which was deeply upsetting. Additionally, I had visited the store the previous day and was instructed to return with identification, which I did. Being turned away afterward—without thorough review, explanation, or effort to assist—resulted in unnecessary inconvenience. I believe this situation reflects a need for improved training on how to evaluate standard government forms and, equally important, how to communicate with customers respectfully and consistently. If your team is not able to provide informed and equitable service, it may be worth reconsidering whether notary service should be offered. Due to this experience, I do not plan to use this location for future services. Thank you for your attention.
