God forbid you need to reach the dude who patrols our lot
Have a guy throwing knives at our back door
And where’s Oregon patrol?
Straight to voicemail.

Oregon Patrol provides daytime onsite guard service and nighttime guard patrols for office buildings located in the central business district of Portland. The daytime guard unlocks & locks doors on a schedule, provides customer service to tenants and their guests, patrols properties, checks locked doors, and reports on any unusual activity or maintenance items observed. The nighttime patrols check to make sure doors are locked and removes individuals from private property. They have been great to work with and we think of them as an integral part of our management team.

This company provides a level of service that is seldom seen in the security industry. They are professional, prepared, and well equipped. The company has armed and unarmed capabilities that enables them to provide many different services. No more having a ratty looking guy, lumbering along the property, looking like he couldn't scare a fly. This company will provide the service you need. I know they did for me.
Frequently Asked Questions About Oregon Patrol Service
You mention flexibility and customization - how does that work?
At Oregon Patrol Service, we understand that each client has unique security needs. We begin by collaboratively defining your goals and identifying potential security vulnerabilities. Our team then develops tailored strategies to address these specific concerns. While we can offer insights from similar businesses we serve, our primary focus is on creating a security plan that works best for you. For instance, if you're closing your business for a week, we can arrange additional day patrols to ensure your property remains secure. Our leadership team is actively involved, innovative, and quick to respond to your needs. However, we're committed to only taking on tasks we can execute with excellence, maintaining our reputation as a leader in private security solutions.
What's your relationship like with local police agencies?
Our relationship with law enforcement is a top priority for Oregon Patrol Service. We strive to build trust in our officers' judgment and decision-making abilities, ensuring prompt police response when needed. To foster this trust, we partner with and support our local agencies whenever our clients require. We emphasize our understanding of the legal limitations of our authority and express our deep respect for law enforcement's work. Regular meetings with station commanders help us understand local protocols and how we can best collaborate. Through these efforts, we're establishing a solid reputation based on mutual respect, trust, and effective cooperation with local police agencies.
Your website mentions proof-of-service - what is it?
Proof-of-service is our way of providing tangible evidence of our security patrols. Our officers use advanced scanning and tracking software on handheld devices to monitor their routes and scan QR ID tags placed throughout your property. This information is then uploaded to our patrol management software, recording details such as the responding officer, site arrival time, any anomalies found, and specific locations checked. Anomalies might include unsecured doors, non-functioning lights, or other issues. For more serious problems, we may contact you directly or alert local law enforcement if necessary. We send incident reports, as applicable, and proof-of-service to our clients upon request.
Your patrol officers look like police - what are the main differences?
While our patrol officers may appear similar to police, there are significant differences in our roles and responsibilities. Law enforcement officers are 'sworn' personnel with a 'duty to act' as dictated by state statutes. In contrast, as private security providers, we have a 'right to act' rather than a duty. This distinction allows us greater flexibility in handling situations. Like law enforcement, we are regulated by state statutes and require certification and licensing. Our training equips us to understand when we can and cannot exercise our statutory authority. The main similarity between us and law enforcement is our shared commitment to safety and security. However, while police serve the public, we primarily serve private entities.
