This place is a package black hole. And unfortunately the post office doesn't actually deliver mail to the homes of a large number of the residents in this area. So we have to go get our packages at the post office. Which we quite often can't do because they are lost. We have lost two packages this week. We have the tracking information for both. USPS says both made it to the Sunriver post office. And from there they apparently entered the black hole from which many packages never emerge. These aren't the first two either. Never had this happen to me before but it is a frequent occurrence here.

Very rare to be able to get your package on the same week it was delivered. Make sure you know exactly how many packages you have to pick up because if you don't specify "I believe there is 4 boxes". They will just hand you 1 and send you on your way.

Thank you so much Sunriver postal employees!! I had a very important package sent to Sunriver to the wrong address but that would go to the Sunriver USPS before being returned. They were very helpful in helping me track and retrieve my package before it was sent back to sender. By them during this, they helped me avoid a huge issue with a time sensitive item that would’ve cost me $$. THANKS AGAIN!!!

I know this post office gets a bad rap but after living here for 5 years I've come to both realize and accept a few realities of living "off the beaten path". First off, it has to be said that the ladies behind the counter at this post office have been wonderful in every interaction I've had with them over the past 5 years, and they sometimes have to deal with some colorful and cranky clientele which I've witnessed first hand. Secondly, getting mail here is more challenging than elsewhere, and that is just a fact. We don't get USPS doorstep delivery, and we have to collect packages from the post office if they aren't left in a parcel locker, whether that's because the package was too big or the parcel lockers are just full. Lastly, the hours of this location aren't full time hours like other branches, but that is no fault of the employees here. I would take that up with the postmaster (I did). Things might change. They probably wont. In 5 years, we've had 1 package go missing. We've had a few others that were mis-delivered to other neighbors, and those thankfully made their way back to us. The carrier who delivers the mail is not a direct employee of the post office, and I agree they have made a couple mistakes and need to go a more careful job. One of the packages that was mis-delivered was a dental retainer from my orthodontist. That is unacceptable. Thankfully it was located. It's easy to point fingers at the mail carrier but some of that blame lies with the HOA or POA, because the mailboxes have been in need of an upgrade for a long time. Most are poorly labeled and some of the street addresses are disorganized on the inside (not in chronological order). Makes a messy job harder to do and introduces more chance of mistakes. I don't usually write an essay for a review, but dear god some of the reviews here would have you believe this is the post office from hell. It is not. Not even close. We're kinda out in the middle of nowhere and all things considered this post office location and the folks that work there are a huge asset to the community. Cut them some slack.
