Worst postal service location anywhere in the country. If you aren’t willing to hire staff physically capable of delivering items, don’t accept contracts from retailers requiring you to do so. Nothing but excuses, failure, and outright lies. Specifically, when they decide not to deliver something, they enter the wrong failure code—gate required code, mailbox full, all absolutely untrue. If that wasn’t bad enough, the location itself handicap unfriendly, with steep stairs and parallel parking. So they won’t deliver items, then set up a labyrinth for physically disabled customers to pick them up.

I have always had a positive experience here. My only complaint is not being able to get a box that isn't on the top row. I am short and have to jump to see if anything is in the mailbox.

I've been using the Astoria Post Office for over a year, and the staff have always been friendly and personable and efficient even when there are long lines due to the pandemic. Ditto for the mail carriers I run into out in the field. Nothing but praise for them!

I rarely get packages on time, get packages for other people consistently. they mark our business as closed when its open. I understand that the person that does the truck at night has had a long day and that they are chose at random. I have people from other business give us packages that were delivered to them when they were meant for us. There are several pleasant postman to deal with, but i think the place is just poorly managed. Biggest issue with this place is the fact that when you go inside it is always a negative experience. The people are always super grumpy and treat you hostile if you have any questions. I recommend going through another postal service as they have been so much more professional. I hate to leave a bad review. But after so many inconveniences, something had to be said.

Update 1 year later: Think it can't get worse? It does! The postmaster should be fully ashamed of the garbage he pulls on his community. These people think that you should have to check your mailbox twice a day, because they deliver twice a day. If you receive "too many parcels in a day, you must come pick it up". Delivery doesn't exist with this criminal organization known as the USPS. We are 12 days in where they refuse to deliver any mail because we get "too many parcels". We're losing money, the businesses we buy from are losing money. All because this postmaster is power hungry. First mail person delivers mail, second one later in the day delivers mail and says, "welp, the mailbox is full from the 11am delivery, so my 4pm exceeds this mailboxes limits, therefore I will steal your packages and make sure we never deliver them". Previous threats by the postmaster of being trespassed have prevented us from picking up any mail in person. They commit fraud and find that it's entirely acceptable because they are a government entity. Update: 4 years later I have a new and even worse review. These employees are some of the most incompetent and lazy people I've ever dealt with in my entire life. As of the last week the USPS office has literally stolen our packages. When confronted at the office, they denied having our packages. I left them with my many complaints involving my packages disappearing (never showing up) in our LOCKED mailboxes and parcel locker. As well as us constantly receiving neighbors packages and them receiving ours. Along with many other related issues. I also left my number with them to call me. This morning they called, I missed it, so it went to voicemail. The same lady (Kathy) that I talked to the day before who said they had none of our packages, they now suddenly do. They told us that we are required to pick up our packages, and if even 1 day passes without checking our empty mailbox, they will refuse to deliver any mail from there on. Likely it's all retaliation for the constant complaints over the years. These people are disgusting. Expect your packages and letters to disappear or be held ransom. Old Review Best at damaging packages in mailbox by forcing oversized packages into it, and marking packages as delivered when packages have not been delivered. Marking mail as "unable to deliver", even though the mail person made no attempt to deliver as I've seen countless times. Constantly delivering mail to the wrong address. Worst employees I've ever dealt with at any Post Office. Avoid this incompetent business.
