Extremely Disappointing Experience for Yorkdale Bell Corporation

I recently transferred my mobile lines to Bell and faced an incredibly frustrating experience at the Yorkdale store. After transferring my 3 mobile lines to Bell, I found daughter’s iwatch plan also needed to transfer to Bell and connected to one of my 3 mobile numbers. I was met with rudeness and a lack of assistance from the staff. They dismissed my concerns and told me to go to Apple instead of helping resolve my phone plan issue for it’s not a device problem. The whole activation process was spent over 7 hours trying to navigate through many different call centers and additional store visits, only to be told repeatedly to go back to different locations or calling different Hotlines. It was shocking that a corporate store could not assist with a basic service like activating a plan. I left feeling completely disheartened and unheard as a new customer. Overall, the level of service was unprofessional and unacceptable.

Exceptional Service @ Bell Affiliate Shop in 700 Lawrence Ave W
I had a much better experience at the Bell affiliate shop on Lawrence Avenue. After a long and frustrating day dealing with the Yorkdale store, I stopped by this location and was pleasantly surprised by the level of service I received. The manager was attentive and genuinely cared about helping me resolve my issues. He promptly contacted the Bell hotline and worked hard to get my iwatch plan activated. His dedication made a world of difference and turned my day around. If you need assistance, I highly recommend visiting this shop for a much more positive experience!

After-sales experience at this Bell storefront is severely lacking. The 5-star reviews naming specific sales consultants feel gamed—they clearly cherry-pick which customers they charm (easy sales that guarantee good reviews). And before you dismiss this review because your own experience went smoothly, just know that when things go wrong, you cannot rely on any of the highly praised consultants at this location. Unless they meaningfully change how they treat customers after the sale, those 5-star reviews tell only half the story.
I purchased two phone plans on Black Friday and was told I could visit any Bell location on Monday to switch my numbers over. The initial sales experience with Thej was great. However, when I went to the Dufferin Mall Bell, they informed me that the promo I was sold couldn’t be honored if I was switching from Virgin—completely contradicting what Thej had explained. They then sent me back to Yorkdale Bell, calling it the “corporate location.”
At Yorkdale Bell, Thej was not there, and Tomas was incredibly dismissive. He cut me off repeatedly, told me he’d heard “multiple stories today of customers being sent to the store instead of switching over on the phone,” and pointed me to a regular landline in the back, refusing to even look up my account. His responses amounted to: “I don’t know who sold you the plan” and “I can’t help you, you have to call Bell.”
I spent over an hour on that phone—during which I was inexplicably transferred to billing, risking the loss of my number. I also learned that my plan was actually $45 + $35, not $40 + $35 as I had been told. Only one number was switched. As I was leaving, after taking note of his name, the associate manager Waqar finally agreed to help—switching my second line in minutes. He clearly could look up my account on the store computer and contact corporate directly. Yet none of the consultants, including Waqar earlier, offered any assistance. Even Bell customer service asked if someone in the store could verify my account, but no one was available.
Once they make the sale, you become worthless to them. I truly lament the state of telecom in this country—without meaningful competition, customers are at the mercy of these oligopolies.
