In the on-going saga that is dealing with rural mail delivery service from Minco, OK post office I have a small package that I ordered from Walmart that was dropped at the Minco Post Office at 6:10am on 9/12/2025. It is not a large box or heavy for that matter as all it contains is a pirate hat halloween prop that I was hoping to have by 9/13/2025 for a parade...but here it is 9/16/2025 and the package IS STILL SITTING at the Minco Post Office. Is it going to be delivered? I don't know. You cannot call the Minco Post Office to find these things out or to find out if its even in route with the mail carrier because the Minco Post Office does not publish their phone number but instead sends you to a 800# that never lets you speak to anyone about anything but routes you through the AI maze for hours with what appears to be a purpose of frustration and never one to solve issues or heaven forbid get you to a human who might be able to help. Main delivery seemingly improved for a few months (and I rewrote my review below due to the perceived improvement), but I now realize I may have just quit ordering things and that perhaps is why it appeared to improve. I understand not delivering large or heavy boxes. I can even understand not wanting to deliver a lb parcel containing a pirate hat weighing less than a pound but there has been no notice put in my box that I need to pick it up rather than wait on delivery. It doesn't seem prudent to treke the 20 miles to the post office only to learn that the box in being delivered and is not there but with my carrier instead. This madness of "are they going to deliver it or aren't they" needs to end! If you aren't charging enough to merit being bothered to deliver items then CHARGE MORE and if you have postal workers who simply refuse to do their job because they don't want to deal with it then HIRE PEOPLE WHO WILL. And if you have decided you aren't delivering packages and people have to come get it themselves, send out a notice so people are aware of this change. And for pete's sake publish your phone number so we can talk to someone local when we call that may can actually help us!!!! ************************************************************* The Post Master General here is helpful & the lady who works the front desk is as well (may be same person, not sure good morning). Dealing with the post office at the post office is a pleasant experience. No complaints there! Now…my mail carrier(s) is another story. They lose mail a lot, which is obvious when you sign up for digital mail alerts. You’ll see that you got the particular piece of mail on your phone yet it never seems to make it to the box. My most favorite annoyance is how the carrier doesn’t want to deliver your package so marks it as “attempted delivery but was unable to deliver” when they never actually attempted delivery. And good luck getting a hold of anyone at the Minco post office to figure out how to get the package that they’ll never actually attempt to deliver, because there simply isn’t a huge staff at the Post Office to always be available to answer the phone (usually just one person there doing all the work so I get that). I did see where they were looking to hire a few mail carriers so perhaps the problem of getting mail in my mailbox will be solved soon. The current person(s) sometimes doesn’t even get the mail in the box and I have to pick it up off the road…other times it’s been put in a neighbor’s box instead. Good thing all the neighbors are friendly, since we all have to keep giving each other miss-directed mail.
