I needed to return a ring to a jeweler friend. It needed to be insured for $2,500. First of all, the insurance was very expensive. Then they kept piling costs on. They said it needed to be sent 2nd day Air ($33.31 + $107.20 service option+ $7.70 fuel surcharge). According to my jeweler friend, that was a lie. Then, although they measured my box and said it was fine, I found on my receipt $4.39 for a box, $7.35 for packing materials, and $5.85 service charge to pack it. It even says on my receipt that “repackaging was offered but customer declined.” Why, then was I charged for it? The total came to $166.58. My jeweler friend returned the ring to me for less than half that so I’ve concluded I was completely ripped off. I would not recommend them but if you do use them, I advise you to watch them carefully, check your receipt carefully, and question all charges that they say you “need.”
