- CCChantel CreedAug 3, 20231.0The office is only open for passport appointments weekdays from 9-4. My first passport experience 5 years ago was super easy and painless. I just need to change the name on mine now because i am married and need my name changed. This time I made an appointment for 9. I got there and there's no office for passports anymore --as far as I could tell anyways. Everyone is just standing in a line. So I have to get in a line and wait- despite having an appointment. (Very hard for me to take time off of work because i am a nanny and if i am not at work it means the parents arent at work. I got time off in the morning to do this so I expected to be able to start my appointment at the appointment time. I get paid hourly so i also lost money on this) I stand in the line for 5 min and then the person - only person working in 1 window- puts up a sign indicating that the window is closed for now. I wait 20 min for someone to show up at the window. Then I leave. Gotta go to work- i expected the whole thing to take 40 min or so. Not all of us can just stand around with no info or help or anything. That's why ya make appointments. I'm super annoyed. It's going to be hard to find another day where I can just take time off of work. Maybe I'll try a different post office this time. Don't go here unless you want to waste your time.
