I came in with my mom to return work equipment, which is typically a quick in-and-out process at other UPS stores. From the start, the interaction felt a bit odd. The employee scanning my items, Christian, asked several personal questions about my job and appeared confused when scanning the QR codes for the equipment. He was muttering under his breath and seemed unsure of what he was doing, which made the situation uncomfortable. His knuckles were also freshly scabbed over like he been punching walls recently or something. At one point, he mentioned that when his Uber picks him up after work he plans to take something that would “sedate” him, which felt inappropriate to share with a customer. The overall interaction made it seem like my return was a burden rather than a routine task. The process took over 30 minutes because he appeared not to understand how to complete the return. He did not package the equipment in front of me and said he would do it later. I asked multiple times for it to be packaged so I could confirm everything was properly boxed, but he only handed me a receipt. I’m a very friendly easy going person and don’t mind small talk with interesting people but this interaction easily took the cake on strangest experiences. My mom and I seriously thought we were on the show “What Would You Do” Another employee (I believe his name was Sean, with red hair) appeared to notice the struggle but did not step in to assist. I left feeling uneasy and honestly nervous that my equipment may not be shipped correctly, despite having a receipt. I hope management reviews training and customer service at this location so future customers have a smoother experience.
