Payroll4Construction is the #1 Payroll Service for Contractors, combining construction-specific payroll and reporting features with everything else you would normally expect from a payroll processing service. P4C understands construction and gives contractors a competitive advantage by letting them focus on their jobs while handling the rest.
I have been processing payroll for over 18 years and this had truly been the BEST, most friendly company and system I have been able to work with. If you have to process payroll for multiple tax jurisdictions and understand the headache that will cause you mixed with the wasted hours on quickbooks....then please use Payroll4Construction! I can honestly say its been a game changer for us! Their staff is also amazing!

Are you still in business? I sent an email to the tax department 2 weeks ago and have still not gotten a response. Last time I wrote a review, Jacob reached out to me letting me know to cc him on all emails to the tax department. I did that. I called him and left a voicemail and still nobody has gotten back to me. Our Q4 taxes were underpaid by P4C and the underpayment is about to be charged interest. I just want to know if we need to pay this directly or if P4C will handle it. That's all. Seems like an easy question, but nobody will answer me.
Edited to add: see below where they say the customer success person will reach out... yeah thats probably true, they did last time. It's the Jacob I mentioned above. I cc him on all correspondence as he asked, I've called him like he asked, he hasn't done a single thing to help. Pointless.

I've used a few different payroll companies in the past, we used Gusto before going union and then ADP. ADP was not a good fit and we had high hopes for this company. The sales pitch was great and the on-boarding was very good. But over a number of months the service has not been there. I don't get to choose the services my company uses but personally this move to payroll4construction has made my job more difficult and I would not recommend using them.
The software is very old, sometimes it takes several attempts to get logged in. I really don't care for the way support tickets are done, its very impersonal and takes a long time for a response. I really miss using Gusto, its unfortunate they don't do the complexity of Union payroll because they were so much better to work with.
It looks like there is a real swing of experiences on here, people either love them or hate them. Maybe they are treating big customers with better service, but as a small union shop our experience has not been very good.

Payroll4Construction has become a major asset and help to my day-to-day operations in our office since I've had to absorb payroll in house. We spent ~4 months of attempting to work with ADP in our payroll since that's who our former payroll service company had had us signed up with before they dissolved their payroll department and handed it over to us, and I still found myself deciding to call our former payroll rep for advice and help in their system than ADP themselves due to the lack of capability to assist in the areas I was missing some understanding in. The night and day difference in the amount of time I've seen from having to spend manually calculating and completing CPR forms and the like to now having a system that will generate the report for me has been an absolute game changer. I've had no problems with any staff members; everyone has been super kind and ready to help with a thorough knowledge base in the areas that ADP was less than helpful in (Union dues, Prevailing Wage, etc.).
I could probably list a million more reasons, but that's all to say: If I had to start from scratch as a construction based company again: I would skip over the learning step of using ADP as an in-house payroll processing system and opt for Payroll4Construction. You'll find that you'll be met with more answers and assistance than the ever-revolving questions that you'll just circle around with with ADP.

Don't get duped by this company. They will talk it up and be super helpful until you go live with they system, then the support is gone. They entered several of our benefits wrong so we have been pulling the wrong amounts, they filed our state unemployment file late and got us a fine that they then tried to say wasn't their fault. You have to call in and leave a message to get help and then wait around for days for a phone call back. I'm a small business and don't sit at a desk all day just waiting for them to call. I've sent emails that sometimes take weeks to get a response. If pressed about the response time you get a "well this is just how it always is". I've wasted a lot of on-boarding time with this company to just feel like I need to find another payroll provider. If they had online help it would probably be better but since the system is set up 100 different ways for different customers there is no resource that really helps new users without first trying to decode which configuration of the software you are working with. I'll be going somewhere else as soon as possible.
