  I had a very unfortunate experience at this location. I visited the store to shred several pounds of sensitive documents belonging to my father, who recently suffered a stroke. We were in the process of cleaning out his apartment, and the materials included banking, tax, Social Security, and other confidential information. After weighing the documents and paying for the service, I discovered that the secure shredding bin was completely full. The manager indicated that there were empty bins in the basement. I reasonably assumed that one would be brought upstairs so I could personally place the documents into a locked receptacle. Instead, I was told to “just give them to me.” While I do not question the integrity of the staff, I was not comfortable handing highly sensitive documents directly to anyone. I calmly explained that I preferred to place the materials into a secure bin myself. At that point, the manager abruptly asked the cashier how much I had paid, removed $20 from the register, and pushed it across the counter toward me in an angry manner. The interaction was surprising and unprofessional, and it appeared that other employees were taken aback as well. I left the store and informed her that I would be contacting corporate regarding the incident. I ultimately took my documents to The UPS Store on Warren Street, where the staff was professional, courteous, and helpful. I would highly recommend that location to anyone seeking shredding services.

  My most recent dropoff, I was told I couldn’t use the original manufacturer box I had it in, either rebox it myself or buy one of their boxes. I’ve never had this problem with original boxes. Went to a different store and they accepted it no problem. Thanks for wasting my time.

  Unfortunately, the service at the UPS Store in Oakwood has gone downhill over the past year. Most recently, I sent a client there for a very simple job: two color prints on card stock, with 24 hours’ notice. When they arrived, the prints weren’t done. Then they were told the job couldn’t be completed on card stock because the printer is in the basement and the one person who knew how to use it quit the day before. How is only one person trained to print on card stock at a PRINT STORE?! This isn’t an isolated incident, it’s just the latest in a long pattern. Any time I send a print job there, it’s either not ready or there’s an excuse for why it can’t be done to spec. Reliability has become a real issue. I used to send prints there, and they'd have them same day. I have to believe there's been a change in ownership or management. At this point, I won’t be sending my work or my clients there anymore. The service, quality, and overall experience have become too inconsistent and too poor to trust.
