After reading some of the reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one who receives terrible service here. Yesterday I had to return a package. I was under a time crunch. I only had 7 days to return the item, and I waited until after July 4th holiday. The website I ordered from sent a return label that needed to be printed. I need to order ink for my printer, but according to the website, it said they can print it at the post office. (Which UPS has always done, no problem). But what does New Lex Post Office tell me? They can't print it because it's not in the form of a "QR code". And I was told I could rush to the library, print the return label, and return before the post office closed. More stress added to my day. I could see by the clock that it was not possible to do all of that before the post office closed. And yesterday was the last day I could return the item. So now I'm stuck with it.
Just remember, when it comes to the New Lex post office, "they can't do that". They should order a big sign with that message and hang it above their service desk in the lobby. Honestly there are times when I go to Lancaster Post Office because they seem to know what they are doing, or UPS in Lancaster.
This is not the only issue. They constantly deliver my neighbors mail to my house. I've reported it numerous times at the office to no avail. Finally I left the mail in my box with a big note attached for the mailman. But I'm left to wonder, who's getting my mail?
They also had important documents that I had to have for legal purposes sent back to where they came from. I was told I received notices to come to the office and sign for the documents. I never received any notices and no attempt to deliver at my house. When you send things overseas, it's pretty expensive, like $80. So I had to wait until they returned it to sender (it was December too, so New Lex Post office gleefully told me it was going to take even longer). Then the papers had to be resent. We went with DHL, which is very expensive, but at least I received them. Delivered to my door, if you can believe that! More than you can ever expect to happen with this post office.
It's my fault, because I should already know that "they can't do that".
