This time was the opposite. I placed my order on October 27, two days before I needed it. Their policy says if you order before noon you can get it the same day. By two o’clock on the 28th I hadn’t heard anything, so I called. The woman who answered was rude and condescending, no customer service at all. She acted like I was wrong for ordering something their system allowed and said everyone’s order was delayed. When I asked for an ETA she refused and said, “It’s only two o’clock, we’ll contact you.” It’s now the end of the day and I still haven’t been contacted. I needed these materials for a presentation, and now I’m stuck waiting. My company will never use this location again. Unbelievable that Staples allows someone like that to represent them. The carpet is disgusting, the shelves are bare, there are boxes and carts laying all around the store, the desk chair section was so disorganized and the print section was very run down. I would honestly say they need to close this store. I tried finding a chair that showed in stock but they just had a floor model sitting out. I asked if they would be willing to sell the floor model thinking it would be slightly discounted since there were scuffs and scratches on it.....Nope, they will however charge you full price with an additional $20 assembly fee. So let me get this straight, your going to charge me the same for a used product AND add an additional $20 because all you have in stock is the floor model. Um no. I can get it from amazon for less and not have to do any lifting to get it into and out of the car. I can now see why brick and mortar stores are closing.
