**Avoid at all costs** As a travel professional with over 25 years of experience, I am fully versed in the documentation required for passport processing. Despite arriving on time with all necessary certified documents, my sons and I were subjected to extremely rude behavior. The appointment began with Ernest questioning my marital status in a judgmental and condescending manner. When I explained that I am a widow and presented a death certificate, he snidely claimed it was "not good enough," despite this being the standard legal requirement for a single parent to process a minor's passport. His lack of technical knowledge became even more apparent when I later overheard him asking a coworker how to actually process a death certificate, confirming that his initial dismissal of my documents was both incorrect and unnecessary. Furthermore, he was disrespectful to my 16-year-old son and me. When I tried to clarify a question regarding a driver’s license, he stated that he was not speaking to me and would only look at me and address me if he had a question. He refused to acknowledge my son’s valid, unexpired original U.S. passport as a legitimate photo ID, fixating on a license my son does not yet have and is not needed. There was also a mix up of fee’s. I had cashier’s checks for the US Department of State processing fees. He decided not to take them and charged my debit card for the fee’s. I told him to take the checks, and I would pay the photo fee’s on my debit card. That also resulted in rude comments. Not only was he extremely rude to me, but he was also condescending to a young gentleman getting his first passport in front of us. I felt so bad for him; he was visibly upset with his comments. Once I left the building I sat in my car and cried I can’t believe the way I was treated and my boys had to witness this horrible experience. Upon further research, I discovered that this specific employee is a recurring theme in local Google reviews for his pattern of rudeness.

To avoid the holiday rush I mailed my package on the 20th of November for delivery by the 26th. Turns out my package was held at the Columbus distribution center for four days. It is Dec 1st and no other updates have been provided. Never again.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had at a USPS location. Ernest was openly rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. What should have been a simple passport photo for our 6-month-old turned into an unnecessarily stressful ordeal entirely because of the staff’s behavior. Ernest incorrectly claimed that expedited processing requires “known travel plans” yet provided no policy or evidence to support his statement. It was obvious he and the other employee wanted to do the bare minimum and had no interest in completing the job properly. Their attitude was careless, unprofessional, and frankly unacceptable. What was even more concerning was that the other staff member wasn’t wearing a badge or any visible identification, making it impossible to know who we were dealing with. The most shocking moment was when Ernest raised his voice at the mother of our child and said, “We are not done here,” simply because she was pacing with our baby to keep him calm. At no point were we trying to leave without completing the process. His tone and behavior were completely uncalled for and deeply disrespectful. Both Ernest and the other staff member treated customers inconsistently and selectively, offering better treatment to some while being dismissive toward others. The entire visit was uncomfortable, frustrating, and far below any reasonable standard of customer service.

Extremely rude, disrespectful and racist staff. Made our newborn’s passport appointment very unpleasant. Man named Earnest and the lady next to him are not fit for the role. Wanted us to sit our baby (who does not yet sit) in a high stool for a picture USPS. When we expressed hesitation as this would put our baby at risk of injury we were met with attitude. USPs needs to get rid of the current staff if they want this location to continue having customers.
